LG Rollable Smartphone
Apparently, LG is trying to explode the mobile market by introducing a rolling phone in March 2021. However, the LG Slide is a more attractive name for it. There is no specific information about this device at the moment, except that it will enter the market soon after its introduction in March.
When it comes to adventure in mobile phone design, LG is definitely one of the first letters that come to mind. Some time ago, the company introduced the LG Wing, which was part of the Explorer project; There are now rumors that the company may make a roll-up phone.
According to a patent filed by LG, it has designed a product that gives us an overview of the future appearance of the company’s rolling phone.
According to the documents, this patent describes a smartphone that is equipped with a rectangular frame and OLED display. The display slides out from the left and right edges. After opening the screen from the two side edges, its dimensions will be doubled when closed. In addition, it should be noted that the user can open the screen from one side only, instead of the two side edges.
It seems that LG uses gear and elastic materials to open and close the rolling screen of the device easily. The company is also considering a mechanism to prevent the screen from opening accidentally and unintentionally.
The screen automatically adjusts the content to be displayed according to the device currently available. Other multitasking features that we saw in clamshell phones like the Galaxy Fold are also present in the LG product. No other information is available about the roll-up phone under Project LG
